老公, 老公, Visits Hong Kong!

Wilton visited Hong Kong over winter break (end of December 2012 to January 2013) so that we could also visit Vietnam and Cambodia. Since we took 987342635294759563972 photos for the trip, I am terrified to even sort through those so I will fast forward to just the Hong Kong part :)

Wilton’s first meal at the LG7 canteen (equivalent to a food court or cafeteria) near the dorms. A bit salty but edible after throwing in some hot sauce.

The famous Tim Ho Wan, always packed with a long line way before the restaurant even opens. Why? It has been hailed as the most affordable restaurant that has earned a Michelin star. Was it worth the wait? Honestly, not really. There were a few signature items that slightly made the wait worth it though. Tip: just order the 酥皮叉燒包 (char siu bao) BBQ Pork Buns to go.

See if you can find Wilton, being silly as usual, in this long line!

Look at the spacious room offered to Wilton.

Okay, so the restaurant is a bit small, hence the long line…

Hands down, favorite dish. Crispy and fluffy bun, soft and juicy honeyed pork inside. The top layer of the bun actually is the top layer of 菠蘿油. Fantastic combination of 菠蘿油 and 叉燒包!

We arrive to the HKUST off campus building, only to find it closed..

Wilton thinks the off-campus building looks like a dim sum cart and here he is pulling out a tray

I think Wilton had too much caffeine or maybe he really loves Hong Kong Park that much!

Exploring Cyberport, Aberdeen area. Cyberport doesn’t have much to do but the Le Meridien room upgrade Wilton got was sweet!

The infamous Jumbo restaurant. Looks flashy at night, but the food is not special at all.

There wasn’t anything worth eating in Cyberport so we ended up going to the market:

On one of the days I had to go to class, Wilton proved to me that a decent home-cooked meal is possible with just the rice cooker!
